Our core focus is to work closely with training providers and agriculture industry leaders to bring the best industry driven training opportunities, research, knowledge and skills to WA.

With our partners, we offer a wide range of nationally accredited training and courses, as well as workshops and professional development — hand-picked from leading training providers and industry experts across the country.

Muresk is a working agricultural and livestock farm as well as a training, conference and function facility. We host groups small and large from eight to 150 people including industry, business, government and community events with accommodation, meals and all the latest technology — right here in the beautiful surrounds of the Avon Valley.

Take a look around

Watch this short video to learn more about our rich history and our journey, from opening in 1926 as an agricultural college to becoming Western Australia’s skills hub for modern agriculture.

As a working farm on 898 hectares in the beautiful Avon Valley in WA's Wheatbelt region, Muresk offers a unique learning environment where students get hands on experience through training that's focused on industry-ready practical skills and knowledge.

Improved facilities and equipment at Muresk

In 2023, the WA State Government announced the opening of the $10.3 million expansion at Muresk Institute. This includes new workshops, classrooms, information technology laboratories and student facilities designed to make sure students are learning in a state-of-the-art environment. Alongside the expansion, the State Government delivered two combine harvester simulators and a range of other agricultural machinery options, offering a realistic farm experience in a training environment.

These improvements to our facilities were designed following extensive industry consultation to ensure students will be job ready once their training is complete. These state-of-the-art facilities, along with our modern machinery and technology and  equipment, provide students with a world class learning environment.

A new $800,000 industry-standard shearing shed was also completed at Muresk, providing students with high quality training in wool handling and shearing.
