This two-day course provides the knowledge and skills required to manage risks associated with chemical use, and to understand obligations in relation to legislation, safety, compliance, transport and storage in the areas of duty of care, quality assurance and environmental management.
An essential update for primary producers in all aspects of chemical use will allow successful participants to maintain AUSCHEM Australia accreditation. The course covers new information in health and environmental safety, legislation, spraying and calibration techniques, residues and resistance to chemicals.
Participants will learn on a practical level how to improve their integrated pest management programs, to better choose the right chemical for the job and to apply it more accurately.
The course is designed for people who will be spraying chemicals without supervision.
On successful completion of this course, students will receive a statement of attainment for the nationally accredited units which will allow them to apply for AUSCHEM Australia accreditation.
