Heavy Vehicle Driving Operations Skill Set

This skill set has been designed for you to gain the necessary skills and licences required to work in the heavy haulage industry.
- TLILIC Licence to operate a forklift truck
- TLIF0025 Follow work health and safety procedures
- TLIF0009 Ensure the safety of transport activities (COR)
- TLIF2010 Apply fatigue management strategies
- TLIB0002 Carry out vehicle inspections
- TLIA1001 Secure load
- TLID0015 Load and unload
- TLIC3004 Drive a heavy rigid vehicle
Approximately five weeks in length including three weeks of full time TAFE based learning followed by three practical driving lessons and a practical driving assessment. Practical lessons and assessments are completed in the weeks immediately after the TAFE based learning experience.

Prerequisites
You must not hold a provisional licence and have held either a:
- Car (C Class) licence for at least 2 years
- Light rigid (LR) vehicle licence for at least 1 year
- Medium rigid (MR) vehicle licence for at least 1 year
